----------------------------------------------------
On April 21, 2007 Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley,
Inc. held its Second Annual Kids-N-Clays Sporting Tournament at the Sun
Mountain Gun Club in Coarsegold, CA. The day started at 8:00 am with registration
and continental breakfast. A brief meeting was conducted by Willy Cherry
to assure protection and safety of all participants. The tournament began
at 9am with over 140 NSCA registered shooters. Participants shot in 15
stations while others visited vendors and food booths. Immediately following
the tournament, everyone came back to the club house for the start of
the awards luncheon. The food was prepared by Pardini’s Catering
and Banquets; it consisted of BBQ Ribs, BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beans, green
salad, a roll and ice cream for dessert. During lunch, participants had
the opportunity to bid in a silent and live auction for items such as
a Winchester Guns, vocational giveaways, and hunting gear. The event concluded
with last words from Executive Director Patty Manfredi and Board Past
President Herman Perez. Winners were announced and awarded special trophies!
The Kids & Clays Foundation was a major supporter in our event and
would not have been possible with the help of Tammy Steinhagen, Program
Director of the Foundation. They donated over 150 raffle items including
signage, hats, ammunition, hunting knives, and acquiring 14 national sponsors
to support our cause. We are also grateful for the Coarsegold Cadets who
managed the shooting stations and the scoring. A special thank you to
the committee for all their time and hard work: Richard & Kim Iverson,
Dan Whitehead, Willy Cherry, Mike Schafer, and Allen Elia.
