------------------------------------------
The Annual Spring Clean-Up Day was held on Saturday April 2nd, 2005. Bissell
was our main sponsor and provided house cleaning supplies and vacuums
for the volunteers to use. The Ronald McDonald House was turned upside
down by volunteers who helped us clean everything from top to bottom.
We had about 70 volunteers come out to the House. The Boy Scout Troop
# 111 & 94, and Fresno State Fraternities and Sororities including:
Alpha Xi Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Delta Zeta, Sigma Chi, Phi Gamma Delta,
Sigma Phi Epsilon, Theta Chi, Sigma Omega Phi, Lambda Theta Nu, Phi Lambda
Rho, Upsilon Kappa Delta, Eta Alpha Gamma, Lambda Theta Phi, Chi Rho Omicron,
Nu Alpha Kappa and Order of Omega. We also held a yard sale at the House
and had quite a few customers and earned some money for the Ronald McDonald
House. After all the hard work was finished, we all celebrated with a
barbeque that included hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, soda and
water. Some of the Fraternity members played “chef” and cooked
lunch for all the volunteers.
We would like to thank everyone who made the Annual Spring Clean-Up Day
a rousing success. The Ideal Home Bakery in Kingsburg donated cookies
for everyone to snack on before the cleaning began, Albertsons donated
juice for everyone to drink and JoAnn Stevens provided homemade cookies
for everyone to enjoy at lunch. Special thanks to Lisa Mangan, Frank Lopez
II, and Frank Puccio. On behalf of the Board, Volunteers and Staff, we
would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who took a day out of
their lives to help keep the Ronald McDonald House beautiful for all the
families who stay here!
