2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament

Friday May 27th, 2005 marked the 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament
presented by the Foresters and hosted by the Ronald McDonald House Charities
of the Central Valley, Inc and Players International Network. The day
started off with registration where each golfer got a “goody bag”
that held gift certificates, sunscreen, golf balls, collared shirts, hats
and commemorative water bottles. After registration, a lunch of hamburgers,
hot dogs, chips and soda was served. During lunch there was a Celebrity
Draft in which the golfers had a chance to bid on their favorite celebrity
to play on their team. Celebrities included:

Shotgun started at 1:00 pm and the teams played 18 holes of golf. Along
the way, each player had a chance to participate in blackjack games and
individual competitions at the different holes. Competitions included
closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-one for prizes. Throughout
the day the golfers had a chance to bid on a Silent Auction that was run
by the Foresters. Dinner started at 6:30 pm and included tri-tip, chicken,
rice pilaf, potato salad, pasta salad, vegetables, salad and dinner rolls
catered by the Fig Garden Golf Course. Once the golfers were seated, Marketing
Manager Pedro Santana and Executive Director Patty Manfredi spoke to the
crowd about the Ronald McDonald House and all the lives that are affected
by the generosity of the community. After dinner there was a Live Auction
in which golfers had a chance to bid on sports memorabilia.
The winners of the Golf Tournament are: The Morgan Stanley Team- Leonard
Kirkorian, Jim Burnside, Dave Johnson, and Pat Rollins. Donny Buszkirk
won the putting contest and a 5 day, 4 night cruise to Mexico. The closest
to the pin contest winner was John Fulton and his prize is an 8 day resort
stay. Shawn Dwyer was the winner of both the chipping contest and the
longest drive. Congratulations to all of our winners!
The 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament was a huge success and everyone
