3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament

RMHC of the Central Valley, Inc hosted its 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament
on Friday May 26th, 2006. This event was presented by the Foresters and
the Fresno Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The day started off with
registration where each golfer got a “goody bag” that held
gift certificates, golf towels, golf balls, collared shirts, hats and
commemorative water bottles. After registration, golfer enjoyed hamburgers,
hot dogs, chips and soda before the start of the tournament. During lunch,
several foursomes participated in the Celebrity Draft in which the golfers
had a chance to bid on their favorite celebrity to play on their team.

Shotgun started at 1:00 pm and the teams played 18 holes of golf. Along
the way, each player had a chance to participate in blackjack games and
individual competitions such as closest to the pin, longest drive and
four (4) hole-in-one contests. Throughout the day the golfers had a chance
to meet the HIS Magazine Girls, Central Valley Coyotes Dance team and
other business informational booths. Dinner started at 6:30 pm and included
tri-tip, chicken, rice pilaf, potato salad, pasta salad, vegetables, salad
and dinner rolls catered by the Fig Garden Golf Course. Once the golfers
were seated, Marketing Manager Pedro Santana and Executive Director Patty
Manfredi spoke to the crowd about the Ronald McDonald House and all the
lives that are affected by the generosity of the community. After dinner
there was a Live Auction in which golfers had a chance to bid on vocational
getaways.
The winners of the 3rd Annual Golf Tournament were: Joe Ortega, Frank
Cozzi, Dewane Weagel, and Shane Lee. Second place was Morgan Stanley -
Leonard Kirkorian, Jim Burnside, Dave Johnson, and Pat Rollins. Third
Place was Affluent Lending, Inc- David Sawyer, Brittany Sawyer, Ryan Lee,
and Terry Sawyer. Paul Jensen won the putting contest and a 5 day, 4 night
cruise to Mexico. The closest to the pin contest winner was Phil White
and his prize is an 8 day resort stay. Shane Lee won the Accuracy Drive
contest and Dewane Weagel was the winner of the chipping contest. Congratulations
to all of our winners!
The 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament was a huge success and could
