Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley, Inc. held its first annual “Red Heart Ball” event on Saturday, November 10th, 2007 at the Bankers Ballroom in Downtown Fresno.  Approximately 280 guests attended this gala event. The evening began with a special VIP hour at 6pm followed by dinner.  During the course of the evening guests had the opportunity to bid on more than 64 silent and live auction items.  The Foresters-Sierra Branch 1185 ran a terrific silent auction that consisted of beautiful gourmet baskets and sports memorabilia.

The attendees enjoyed a gourmet dinner, catered by Pardini’s.  The menu included sirloin steak, roasted garlic sauté spinach smash-potatoes, vegetables and bread.  As the evening continued its course, Master of Ceremonies Rich Rodriguez from KSEE 24 News, and Executive Director Patty Manfredi acknowledged the Red Heart Ball Sponsors with a special plaque.  During dinner, guests participated on a live auction lead by auctioneer Madera County Supervisor Ronn Dominici. Live auction items included vocational trips, private dinners, jewelry and romantic getaways.

The highlight of the evening was special guests the Morring Family, who first stayed at Ronald McDonald House in 2001. Their son Jeremy Morring, was hospitalized with many life souring procedures.  Jeremy was diagnosed with Pseudo Hirschsprung’s Disease and treated at Children’s Hospital of Central California.  During their stay at the House, the Morring Family found a much needed home, loving care, and peace of mind. Their testimony touched the hearts of our guests as they gave the Morring Family a standing ovation for their many live hardships.

At approximately 9 pm, RMHC Board of Directors came up on stage for the grand finale- the drawing for 2007 Collector Car Giveaway!  Jeremy Morring had the honors of pulling the winning ticket and announced the winner of the 1965 Corvette Sting Ray.  Congratulations to Cheri Grodski from Boulder City, Nevada!  Cheri was notified by Ronald McDonald himself via telephone in front of a live audience as they cheered her on.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors and donors for making this event very special.
