The Volunteer Recognition Dinner
is an opportunity for the staff of the Ronald McDonald House to
recognize our loving volunteers, who gratefully volunteer their
work and time with great dedication to help our families. On Thursday
April 26th, 2007, our 7th Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner took
place at the La Ryan Event Center. This year’s theme was “Asian
heritage,” accompanied with an Asian cuisine. Dinner included
Teriyaki Chicken, Garden Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing,
Seasonal Vegetable Medley, Egg Rolls, Rice Pilaf, bread and dessert.
Everyone present enjoyed the performance of the Hmong dance group
of the Hmong Culture Heritage Center & Museum, who delightedly
danced two cultural songs.
Pedro Santata, the Marketing Manager, was our Host for the evening
and handed out the Helping Hands and Appreciation Certificates accompanied
by Patty Mandrefi, the Executive Director, and by the Board of Directors.
This year’s Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Silvia Chinn.

This year we had the pleasure to award a very special award, the
Jim Bass Golden Heart Award, in loving memory of Jim Bass, who was
one of our most dedicated volunteers of the House. The recipient
of the Jim Bass Golden Heart Award was Alta Bass, who... The evening
concluded with a raffle of 10 Lucky Bamboo oriental porcelain pots.
On behalf of the staff of the Ronald McDonald House and the Board
of Directors we would like to thank our volunteers for their loving
dedication and time. The work of our volunteers makes it possible
for the House to continue serving our families.
