Since the beginning of July What brought you to the Ronald McDonald House? I like to volunteer and I wanted to find somewhere I could help people beyond Fresno and Madera. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? I enjoy the fact that the staff are always friendly and patient when you have questions. What are you most proud of as a volunteer? I am most proud of knowing that I am helping families in their time of need. What's one thing that the staff and other volunteers at RMHC don’t know about you? Some of the staff might know this, but the majority don’t know I have a crazy sense of humor and I’m fun to be around. Favorite Food? Enchiladas Favorite color? Seeing the families of sick children being cared for by the staff at RMHC, a safe refuge. What are you most proud of as a volunteer? Being a small part of a wonderful organization. Wanting to help people and to be a part of something so big and so helpful. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? I enjoy all of the things I do but the thing I enjoy most is working with the staff. What are you most proud of as a volunteer? Being able to work at an organization that is helpful. What's one thing that the staff and other volunteers at RMHC don’t know about you? When I was five years old, I won 1st place in a baby pageant and I am also a softball pitcher. Favorite Food? After retiring, I needed to do something outside the home. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? Visiting with the Staff and house guests What are you most proud of as a volunteer? Helping out with whatever needs to be done. What's one thing that the staff and other volunteers at RMHC don’t know about you? How very much I enjoy being here. Favorite Food? Mexican Food! 	Volunteer of the Month for June 2005 ----------------------------------------- Name: Joan Kreamer Birthplace: Los Angeles, California Hometown: Fresno, California Occupation: Reading Specialist Volunteer position: Front Desk/Ticket Sales How long have you volunteered at the RMHC? 1 year What brought you to the Ronald McDonald House? I had heard the need for volunteers through the Fresno Bee and the volunteer-a-thon on TV. Being new to the area - I thought it would be a great way to get involved in the community What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? The friendly environment, the spirit of helping the families is present in all the staff. What are you most proud of as a volunteer? Being able to help the families feel comfortable during their stay here. I also enjoy helping the office with “chores” – to make their job a little easier. What's one thing that the staff and other volunteers at RMHC don’t know about you? That I’m taking a Spanish class to help me communicate more with the RMHC guests! Favorite Food? Mexican Food! Ronald McDonald House was listed in the Fresno Bee as an organization that needed volunteers, so I called to help. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? Interacting with the staff and helping with the car raffle. What are you most proud of as a volunteer? Being able to meet family needs and being helpful to the staff. What's one thing that the staff and other volunteers at RMHC don’t know about you? I take tap dancing and yoga classes.

A desire to be involved with a charity that services needy families. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? People contact and working with a wonderful staff. What are you most proud of as a volunteer? The work that the RMHC does for families so that they can be together during a difficult time. What's one thing that the staff and other volunteers at RMHC don’t know about you? When I’m not at the “House,” you’ll find me on the Tennis courts. A Family Referral. I had an Aunt that volunteered her and told me about it. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at the House? Personal contact and a friendly environment. I have a beautiful family, very supportive. I have three boys and one daughter.
